Memorial Day 2009

These cute little airplanes are at Oakland Terrace Park. We had fun playing here on Memorial Day until it got too humid and we had to go.

Future pilot

Gotta love the cheesy grin.

Beautiful St. Andrew's Bay. We went down to the marina--it was just a nice day out.

Memorial Day Tackle

Livvie and Matthew have really enjoyed tackling Brent lately. Pretty fun. As you can see, Brent's having a great time too. :) I don't know if you can hear me narrating or not, but I mention that they're wearing aprons because we were just making some banana bread. Num num.

Bowling!

There is a group of moms who belong to MOPS (mothers of pre-schoolers) in this area that meets periodically to have play groups. Yesterday we went to a bowling alley/skating rink/arcade called Rocket Lanes on Panama City Beach. I'd never taken the kids bowling before, so we all had a lot of fun. They had bumper lanes complete with a ramp for the kids to push the ball down. Matthew could even heft that bowling ball--granted, it was a kid's bowling ball, but they were still pretty heavy (7 pounds, I think).

Florida Plates

It was kind of a sad day to have to retire the good old Idaho license plates, but what could we do? Our registration ran out. I guess Florida plates aren't so bad.

A first

This was Brent and Matthew's first father-and-son campout. Yes, it took a lot of persuasion getting me to let him go considering that Matthew isn't quite two years old, but the campout turned out great. Brent's proudest moment was when he took Matthew fishing in a pond using a cane pole and Matthew caught his very first fish. We got the picture on our phone, but have to upload it onto our computer.

Meanwhile, Olivia and I went to see a local play of Alice in Wonderland. Olivia had never gone to a play before and I was a little apprehensive about taking her at first, but she had a great time and I never had to take her out. She was pretty chatty, but she did use her quiet voice for the most part. We had a blast.

Pinewood Derby

Our ward's Elder's Quorum did a pinewood derby. Unlike pinewood derbies done in scouting, there were virtually no restrictions for the Elder's Quorum, hence the large wrenches duct taped to Brent's car. It was a lot of fun. Brent won the award entitled "It speaks for itself." We were very proud.

Month in review

Katy! Aunt Katy came to visit a little over a month ago and we haven't posted any pictures yet. We mostly went to the beach and just hung out--it was very relaxing.

I don't know if you can see that Matthew is sitting on Olivia's lap here. It worked for a little while.
